It is an event "of cosmic proportions", said one Palestinian academic, a befitting description regarding Stephen Hawking's decision to boycott an Israeli academic conference slated for next June. It was also a decisive moral call which was communicated on May 8 by Cambridge University, where Hawking is a professor.

In 2010 and 2011, activist Gerry O’Sullivan spent five months living in Hebron, volunteering with the Christian Peacemakers Teams and the Ecumenical Accompaniment Program in Palestine and Israel. After her visit, O’Sullivan worked with the Huston School of Film at the National University of Ireland, Galway to produce a 25 minute documentary film about the arrest and detention of Palestinian children by Israeli forces.
“Stolen Children, Stolen Lives” brings together interviews conducted by O’Sullivan with footage recorded by Defence for Children International, B’tselem, Breaking the Silence, and Youth Against Settlements. The film centers on four Palestinian boys, the youngest aged nine, who were arrested by Israeli forces in Hebron on 24 February 2010. The four describe the conditions of their arrest and detention and the pressure that they felt to sign false confession documents. Several also discuss residual psychological affects of the experience, including night terrors triggered by later encounters with Israeli security forces.
The film also includes interviews with activists from the Palestine Section of Defense for Children International, Breaking the Silence, the Christian Peacemakers Teams, and No Legal Frontiers. Many of these activists conclude that the arrest and detention of Palestinian children is primarily intended as a deterrent to nationalist resistance to occupation, rather than a punishment for specific crimes.

●●●Stay Human, Restiamo umani - il film - è una gigantesca operazione di coinvolgimento per mantenere viva la memoria di Vittorio Arrigoni, il compagno reporter volontario dell'Ism (International Solidarity Movement) che aveva il compito durante l’operazione «Piombo Fuso» di aiutare sulle ambulanze i volontari della Mezzaluna Rossa a soccorrere la popolazione di Gaza, vittima di un bombardamento durante il quale furono distrutti ospedali, scuole, moschee e abitazioni, utilizzando anche fosforo bianco sulla popolazione civile, arma vietata da ogni convenzione internazionale. I giornalisti furono allontanati da Gaza, il suo racconto è l’unica testimonianza di quella carneficina.

Standing within the boundaries of the holy city, Lifta is one of the 68 villages surrounding Jerusalem that were ethnically cleansed during the Israeli systematic attack in 1948. Unlike the others, it is the only Arab village that has not been destroyed since.

Gerusalemme, 16 maggio 2013, Nena News - È un lunedì di maggio. Dopo aver risalito il Sinai - attraversato col timore di non farcela a superare la frontiera Egitto/Israele - e dopo aver fatto sosta forzata a Eilat e poi percorso altri 350 km di deserto in pullman, siamo finalmente arrivate a Gerusalemme. Due giorni di viaggio tra disservizi, sospensione corse, taxi, pullman e bus solo per ridurre il rischio di essere respinte, rischio che avremmo corso entrando dall'aeroporto Ben Gurion di Tel Aviv. Infatti, a parte gli interrogatori - ridicoli, ma tipici di un paese in cui vige il non-rispetto per tutti gli umani in odore di non-filosionismo - altri problemi seri non ci sono stati. Eccoci quindi a Gerusalemme, pronte ad andare a Beit Jala, vero obiettivo di questo viaggio.
