Har Homa Is a settlement in southern East Jerusalem, near Beit Sahour. The settlement was built in 1994 on lands annexed to the Jerusalem municipality by after the 1967 Middle East conflict.
The Settlement was officially renamed Homat Shmuel in 1998 after Shmuel Meir, a former deputy mayor of Jerusalem, who played an active role in its development before. In 2011, Har Homa had a population of 13,000.
