Meretz Leader Zehava Galon provides the best introduction. In fact there is no need to read the article:
Some things are so absurd that you need to read them twice in order to believe what you are reading. The government wants to delay the evacuation of the [illegal by Israeli law] outpost of Migron so that it would not occur during Ramadan. That's in order to ensure that the expected terrorism against the region's [Palestinian] residents by right-wing activists would not take place during "this sensitive period". No, I'm not kidding, that's exactly how this grotesque request that the Solicitor-General* submitted to the court today looks like. Had the government cared so much about the Palestinians' holy holiday, not to mention their basic rights, it would have already evacuated Migron by 31 March. That was the date by which the High Court had ordered the government to do so. There would have been no need to wait till Ramadan that is taking place in summer. Had the government cared about the rule of law it would have not retrospectively approved construction on private [Palestinian] land in the Territories and then grant tens of millions shekels compensation to those who knowingly built on stolen land. Had the government had any self respect it would not dared arguing before the court that it expects violence from the hill-top [settler] terrorists but would have acted to thwart it. But we know the truth: Had the government invested in other goals the kind of time and money it is obsessively spending on the messianic and corrupting Occupation project, it would just simply not be the Netanyahu government.
*Solicitor-general = translated in US English as Attorney-General.
