The Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and the establishment of illegal settlements, industries, infrastructure and raw material extraction in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Golan Heights is a clear breach against the 4th Geneva Convention and is condemned by major international organizations and governments worldwide. There are two legal systems in force within Israel -‐ one for the Jewish and one for its Arab population, the latter being highly discriminatory. The occupation should in itself be an obstacle to OECD membership, in line with the organization’s own principles of human rights and trade.

1. The Complexity of the subject
On June 10 there was a demonstration before the house of the chief of staff Dan Halutz against the occupation. One of the demonstrators was Dana Olmert, the daughter of he Prime minister carrying a sign: “Stop murdering Civilians”. This truly newsworthy fact was not reported in German or Dutch papers . This made the German “Muslim Markt” write, the truly Hegelian words: How ANTISEMITIC must one be in order to suppress by all means reports on the honest actions of brave Jews, who put their life into danger. A sentence one must think about; it contains our subject in a nutshell.

After eight hours of traveling, three Swedish citizens—Lama Abu-Isefan, Salam Abu-Iseifan and Samaa Sarsour—were deported from Israel this morning. A fourth Swede, Tigran Feiler, was allowed in, but only after being forced to promise not to visit any Palestinian territories. All of the deported people are participants in a peace project with the goal of building bridges between Jews and Palestinians, and to provide hope for a peaceful solution to this seemingly unsolvable conflict.
On Wednesday night, a group of young Swedes of Jewish and Palestinian descent traveled to Israel to participate in a field trip within the framework of the “Let’s Talk About Peace” project. The peace project gathers young Swedes of Jewish and Palestinian descent, and has them give lectures in Swedish upper secondary schools.
Upon arrival at the Ben-Gurion airport in Tel Aviv (Israel), the three Swedish women and one of the Jewish participants were taken away for interrogation. The interrogations went on for eight hours. The Swedish citizens were interrogated in separate rooms, with no lawyer or authorized interpreter present. During that time, another one of the Jewish participants was taken back to passport control for interrogation.

As fashion chain opens its first store in Tel Aviv, Swedish pro-Palestinian organizations urge company to delay opening of its additional stores until Jewish state 'respects international law'
Swedish fashion chain H&M opened its first store in Israel on Thursday morning, but not everyone seems to be happy about it. The Swedish organization for solidarity with the Palestinians and the Palestinian association in Stockholm have called for a boycott H&M over its decision to open six more stores in Israel and urged the company to postpone the opening until Israel "respects international law."
