Gerusalemme, 4 gennaio 2017, Nena News – «I palestinesi devono farne a meno, quei dollari servono solo a pagare il coordinamento di sicurezza tra servizi dell’Anp e quelli israeliani e qualche progetto civile in Cisgiordania e Gaza». L’analista Ghassan al Khatib sminuisce il peso dell’aiuto annuale Usa, circa 300 milioni di dollari, minacciato da Donald Trump per imporre ai palestinesi di tornare – nonostante la sua dichiarazione su Gerusalemme capitale d’Israele – al tavolo delle trattative con Israele. L’esortazione di Khatib a non farsi condizionare si aggiunge alla fermezza che, almeno in queste ore, la presidenza dell’Anp e l’Olp mantengono nei confronti della Casa Bianca. «Gerusalemme non è in vendita» ha replicato a Trump il portavoce palestinese Nabil Abu Rudeina.

Most Palestinians, in contrast, aren’t Israeli citizens, and for those who are, their citizenship is both Class D and conditional. There is always legislation in the pipeline that will further reduce their status. And the Palestinians who aren’t citizens don’t count at all, because they have no right to vote. It’s always possible to imagine and plan for their expulsion from this land, not merely their arrest.
